ML Strategies, LLC, a wholly-owned consulting subsidiary of Mintz, today announced that Anthony DeMaio has joined the Washington, DC office as Director of Government Relations. He provides political insight, legislative strategy, and messaging help for clients from various industries and sectors.

His knowledge of Massachusetts’ economy and politics will help strengthen our firm’s bridge between the Commonwealth and the U.S. Capitol.”

With a background in politics and advocacy, Mr. DeMaio has over a decade of experience lobbying Congress and executive agencies. He has worked on major legislation involving transportation, healthcare, tax, and appropriations. Mr. DeMaio has also supported advocacy efforts to affect regulatory change, encourage congressional and government oversight, and secure federal grant awards.

Mr. DeMaio has represented clients in transportation, organized labor, health care, real estate, and defense. Additionally, he has worked on behalf of public entities including municipalities, airports, port authorities, and institutions of higher education.

Previously, Mr. DeMaio served as a director in the federal relations practice of a public affairs firm in Washington, DC. As a public relations strategist, he has leveraged local, trade, and national press to achieve his clients’ policy goals. Mr. DeMaio is an experienced media strategist and crisis manager, having coordinated communications for various clients under intense media and government scrutiny. In that role, he also managed stakeholder coalitions, marshalling the members’ advocacy assets to achieve their common policy objectives.

Mr. DeMaio is active in Democratic politics, particularly in his home state of Massachusetts.

Prior to joining ML Strategies, he was a professional advisor in the government strategies practice of an international law firm.
