Last week, Congress approved the American Taxpayer Relief Act, which prevented hundreds of billions of dollars in automatic tax increases and budget cuts from kicking in. Among other things, the Act extends existing energy tax incentives over a ten year period, and includes a one-year extension to the production tax credit.
